Quentin Maclaine

Quentin was born in Launceston, Tasmania, but in later years moved to Melbourne, Victoria, to extend his acting/singing career. He has appeared in many roles in Gilbert & Sullivan, several of the productions being produced at the National Theatre, Melbourne. His roles include Nankipoo in The Mikado, Richard Dauntless in Ruddigore Marco in The Gondoliers, Box in Cox & Box, and several different productions as Frederic in Pirates of Penzance, perhaps his favourite role. Quentin has also appeared on stage as Bill Sykes in Oliver! and the title roles in The Boyfriend and the Australian classic The Sentimental Bloke amongst many others. In Australia he studied music under Frank Lasslet, himself for many years a professional Opera Singer in Britain, and later professor of The Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide. Quentin also sang under Lindsay O'Neill at St. Andrew's Cathedral, Brighton, Victoria. He has recently arrived in England and is now making his West End debut.
